Key Information & Regulations

UMass Boston is governed by a set of policies and standards that define proper procedures in areas that affect faculty, staff, undergraduate students, and graduate student employees, and, in some cases, may also apply to persons who work on this campus not in the capacity as a university employee (i.e., food services, bookstore, cleaning services, etc.), consultants, volunteers, and visitors. UMass Boston is committed to providing an environment that is supportive of its students, faculty, and staff, to carry out the university’s teaching, research, and public service mission.

The conduct of UMass Boston employees is guided, in part, by federal law, state law, University policy including policies enacted by the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees.
