The U.S Department of Treasury has a service called TreasuryDirect which allows individuals to set up accounts online to buy and redeem Treasury securities, including saving bonds.

To participate in the Department of Treasury plan, employees need to take the following steps:

  1. Set up a TreasuryDirect account with the Department of Treasury.
  2. Log into the UMass HRDirect Self Service and set up a new direct deposit. Employees need to enter their new treasury account information as well as the biweekly amount that want deposited to this new account.
